Create Your Own Pottery at Amazing Glaze
Like a great piece of pottery, Amazing Glaze, the paint-your-own ceramic studio in Bel Air, is the product of time, energy, creativity, and care. When this place first opened its doors in 1996, it was the first studio of its kind in the entire state of Maryland. Slowly but surely, it built up its reputation as a fun location for birthdays, showers, and corporate events, and today is a local favorite.
The process is easy: you choose your piece of pottery from the hundreds of options on display, then create your own original design, and execute it using paint and other materials on hand in the studio. Then the trained artists on staff will apply a glaze and fire the piece in the on-site kiln. Five days later you can pick up your finished piece, either as a keepsake of a special event, or as a unique gift for others. Other available sessions include mosaic-making, canvas painting, and glass fusing. Check the website for a schedule of workshops.
