Find a Filling Family Meal at Humagalas
The name might seem a bit strange, but patrons say that the feeling at Humagalas is deeply familiar. This new family restaurant in Bel Air aims to become a local institution, the kind of comfortable, casual place that neighborhood folks return to again and again.
The name comes from a childhood memory shared by owners and twin brothers Bob and Bill Frankis, whose father used to refer to his energetic and mischievous sons as “his little humagalas,” a Greek-American equivalent of “little rascals.” The menu at Humagalas reflects this sense of fun and feistiness, and features an array of custom burgers, pizzas, and salads. Yelpers particularly recommend the Boom Shakalaka burger (wagyu beef with brie, arugala, and caramelized onions) with garlic parmesan fries, as well as the four cheese pizza topped with broccoli rabe or meatballs. Have a sweet tooth? Don’t miss the kitchen’s selection of house milkshakes — including spiked varieties for the grown-ups.
